Janet Fuentes is one of the most beautiful dancers in the world; a triple World Open Salsa champion and star of the hit West End show Lady Salsa. She spent her formative years at the Cuban National School of Art and Dance (graduating with honours) and since arriving in the UK, has become an international Salsa star, performing at major Congresses throughout the world. Janet was Winner of The Most Popular Female Cuban Salsa Performer at the Cuban Salsa dance Awards in 2006.

Salsa Explosion is pleased to announce that we will be organising another CUBAN SALSA CONGRESS at the Bournemouth Pavilion from the 7th -9th August 2009!

As per 2008 this exciting 3- day event will take place in the historic Bournemouth Pavilion Ballroom and will feature over 40 hours of daytime dance workshops, with some of the very best Cuban Salsa teachers in the UK and Europe, 3 spectacular late night Salsa Parties, featuring music and shows by the UK's hottest Cuban Salsa performers and DJs, plus loads of Havana Club Rum!

Join us as we wave Adios to 2008 and say a big Hola to 2009 at our New Year's Eve Salsa Party ! The party takes place in Bournemouth's largest private dance studio 'Dance Crazy' and will feature food, classes and shows with some of the UK's top Salsa artsists.

Join us in 2009 as Salsa Explosion board the International All-Star Salsa Cruise!

The International All-Star Salsa Cruise 2009 is a 5 days 4 night salsa cruise experience of a life time. This cruise will be sailing out of Barcelona Spain, making stops in Marseilles, France and Ibiza on the luxurious Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas.

Last Wednesday, author Grevel Lindop came to Bar So to experience the Bournemouth salsa scene. Grevel has written a book about his travels in Latin America visiting salsa teachers and clubs. The book has lots of insight into the great pleasure that salsa gives: the music, the women and the movement. It works as a travel book, and as a book about dance. You also learn a few things about an Englishman of a certain age. You can buy it on Amazon.

Salsa Explosion has joined the internet social networking revolution and created a group for Salsa Explosion dancers on Facebook. Facebook is a free social networking site that allows you to network with other Salsa Explosion dancers, share photos & videos and post comments and topics for discussion. We also use the site to create and invite members to local Salsa events.
